Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that Simhastha-2028 is a significant religious event for Madhya Pradesh. Millions of devotees are expected to visit Ujjain during Simhastha. Comprehensive arrangements should be ensured so that every devotee can participate in the sacred rituals without any inconvenience. Drawing lessons from previous Simhastha events, meticulous planning and micro-level preparations should begin now to ensure a well-organized and systematic event.
Yadav was addressing a gathering at Samatva Bhavan in the Chief Minister's residence on Wednesday while presiding over a meeting focused on the planned organization of Simhastha-2028, taking into account the experiences from previous Simhastha events. He emphasized that all arrangements and management-related works for Simhastha should ideally be completed before June 2027. This will allow sufficient time to address any remaining gaps and further enhance the preparations.
Urban Development and Housing and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge) Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary in Chief Minister's Office . Rajesh Rajoura, Additional Chief Secretary Home JN Kansotia, Additional Chief Secretary Urban Development and Housing Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Director General of Police Kailash Makwana, Additional Chief Secretaries of other departments related to the arrangements of Simhastha, Principal Secretaries, Secretary and Commissioner Public Relations Dr. Sudam Khade and other officers were present in the meeting.
Yadav emphasized that all approved works related to the arrangements and management of Simhastha-2028 must be completed by June 2027. He directed that a monthly progress report of the ongoing projects should be reviewed to ensure there are no shortcomings in the management. All approved works should commence and be completed within the designated timeframe. He further noted that with the establishment of Mahakal Lok, the number of devotees visiting Ujjain has significantly increased.
