Saturday, 03 May 2025 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee OBC Department Chairman cum State Congress Office Incharge (Organization) Abhilash Sahu addressed a press conference here on Friday in the presence of State General Secretary Dr. Rajesh Gupta and Co-Office Incharge Rajan Verma. Rajiv Prakash Chaudhary and others.

Sahu said that we welcome the decision of the Central Government to conduct caste census, it is the result of our leader Rahul Gandhi's continuous struggle from the road to the Parliament that the Central Government was forced to conduct caste census. For this, he expressed his gratitude and thanks to Rahul Gandhi, National President Mallikarjun Kharge and our OBC Congress National President Anil Jaihind on behalf of Jharkhand Pradesh OBC Congress as well as the people of Jharkhand.

“Now going forward, we expect from the Central Government that it should complete this work within a fixed time. Also, make a provision of a budget to complete this work,” he said.

“We doubt the intention of the Central Government, that 27 per cent reservation matter is still pending,” he added.

The decision of caste census is the victory of Rahul Gandhi's resolve for justice and the policy of Congress. The vision and resolve for justice of the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has laid the foundation of justice for the progress of two-thirds of the deprived population in the country today.

The purpose of caste census is to understand the social, economic condition, help in policy making and remove social inequalities, its data will also help in improving reservation policies, identifying deprived groups and ensuring equal opportunities for all.

Dr. Rajesh Gupta said that finally the Modi government at the Center had to agree to Rahul Gandhi's caste census. He said that caste census will provide justice and Congress will also remove the wall of 50 per cent reservation. He said that our public leader Rahul ji has raised the issue of caste census from the road to the Parliament, in front of which BJP had to bow down. Now as soon as the Congress government is formed at the Center, the 50 per cent limit on reservation will be removed and the share will be given in proportion to the population, because caste census is necessary to ensure social justice, participation of the deprived and their representation in the country.

State Congress co-office in-charge Rajan Verma said that the central government has come late, justice warrior public leader Rahul Gandhi kept raising this issue from the road to the House, this should have been done earlier.
