On the occasion of the completion of 75 years of the Indian Constitution, Governor Mangubhai Patel paid tribute to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, and all the great leaders of the Constituent Assembly. He said that their extraordinary vision and tireless efforts have given India a Constitution that guarantees equality, freedom, and justice to all citizens, and for this, we are eternally grateful. Governor Patel was addressing the Samvidhan Gaurav Samman program held in village Pratapgarh, Silwani tehsil of Raisen district. National Human Rights Commission member Priyank Kanungo and Minister of State for Health Narendra Shivaji Patel were present as special guests. During the program, citizens who have contributed significantly to the upliftment and progress of tribals, the poor, and extremely backward classes were also honored.
Patel said that uplifting the tribal and extremely backward communities requires dedicated and sincere efforts from everyone. He urged people to assist tribal populations living in remote areas by informing them about various government schemes and development opportunities. Governor Patel highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched numerous initiatives aimed at the welfare, development, and economic progress of tribal, extremely backward, and marginalized communities. He mentioned the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, which specifically benefits the Bharia, Saharia, and Baiga communities, providing them access to a range of schemes operated by more than nine different departments. In addition to this, rapid improvements are being made in tribal regions in areas such as road connectivity, education, water supply, healthcare, and the provision of permanent housing. Governor Patel further noted that previously, poor women had to cook on traditional stoves, exposing them to harmful smoke and resulting in serious health issues. To address this, Prime Minister Modi introduced the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, providing free gas stove connections to poor families. Similarly, through the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, economically weaker sections now receive free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh annually. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is also enabling poor families to access permanent housing, significantly improving their quality of life.
Member of the National Human Rights Commission, Priyank Kanungo, stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been tirelessly working for over a decade to propel the country forward. He emphasized that it is the strength of the Constitution that today the highest constitutional office—the President of India—is held by a woman from a tribal background. She has served as a teacher and has contributed significantly to the holistic development and upliftment of the community through education, and today, she holds the esteemed position of President of India.
Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education, Narendra Shivaji Patel, said that Pratapgarh is the land of the descendants of the brave warriors Veer Shankar Shah and Raghunath Shah. He highlighted the crucial role of education in progressing in life and stressed that everyone must understand and prioritize the importance of education. He urged all children and youth of the Pratapgarh region to actively contribute to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a developed nation by the year 2047.
Patel after attending the Samvidhan Gaurav Samman program in Pratapgarh, Silwani district, National Human Rights Commission member Priyank Kanungo, and Minister of State for Health Narendra Shivaji Patel visited the residence of Awadhesh Bariva, a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
