Delhi BJP launches Waqf Reform Awareness Campaign

Tuesday, 22 April 2025 | Pioneer News Service | New Delhi

Delhi BJP on Monday launched a Waqf Reform Awareness Campaign across the city. On this occasion, a meeting was held at the Delhi BJP state office in the presence of Minority Morcha National President Jamal Siddiqui and Delhi State General Secretary Vishnu Mittal.

Speaking on the occasion, Siddiqui provided detailed information about the benefits that the Waqf Amendment Bill will bring to the Muslim community. He said this public awareness campaign is being organised at the mandal (block) level until May 5, in order to counter the misinformation being spread by the opposition regarding the bill among the people of Delhi.

In his address, Siddiqui stated that the BJP-led central government has no intention of weakening the Waqf Board. Rather, it wants to strengthen it like an iron pillar, for which some amendments have been made, and Muslims in the country need to understand them with patience, he asserted.

Siddiqui added that through this bill, the BJP governments in several states will free Waqf properties from illegal encroachments and work towards securing the rights of poor and backward Muslims. This Amendment Bill has been introduced specifically to clamp down on those who have illegally usurped these properties.

He also said that in the coming times, nothing can stop the development of Muslims in India, because Allah always sends someone for the welfare of the people, and in today’s times, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working as that very person sent by Allah.

On this occasion, Mittal said the Waqf Board has become synonymous with corruption.
