Demand for direct train services from Ranchi to Ayodhya

The second meeting of the Divisional Railway Consumer Advisory Committee (year 2024-2026) under the chairmanship of Divisional Railway Manager Jasmeet Singh Bindra was held today in the auditorium of Ranchi Railway Division Office.

The meeting started with the welcome speech of Divisional Railway Manager Jasmeet Singh Bindra, in which he welcomed the members present and appreciated the role and contribution of the committee and thanked the honorable members on behalf of the division for their participation in this meeting and giving their valuable time.

The proceedings of the meeting and the meeting were conducted by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager cum Chief Public Relations Officer and Secretary of the Committee, Shuchi Singh and she showed the achievements, passenger facilities, current and future projects of Ranchi Railway Division through power point presentation.

Many suggestions and demands were put forward by the honourable members for increasing passenger facilities such as regular train service from Ranchi to Ayodhya, Lucknow, Jaipur, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Dehradun, Katra, Indore, Siliguri etc., Ranchi-Kamakhya should be operated two days a week as before, Hatia-Durg special train should be operated normally, request to speed up the construction work of Silli-Ilu (Bypass) railway line, initiative should be taken to reopen the closed railway ticket counter in Gumla, operation of Vande Bharat sleeper train from Ranchi, increase in the number of trips of trains running to various destinations especially South India, efforts to complete Hatia-Bandamunda doubling work soon and other demands were put forward on which detailed discussions were held.

Also, the members of the committee appreciated the work done by Ranchi Railway Division and expressed satisfaction. And the division assured the members that appropriate action will be taken on their suggestions. During the meeting, the honourable members voted under the supervision of Raja, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer as the presiding officer and elected Krishna Kumar Gupta (K.K. Gupta) as the member of the South Eastern Railway, Regional Railway Consumer Advisory Committee.

In the end, ADRM Hemraj Meena presented a vote of thanks in which he thanked all the members of the committee for their contribution and active participation.

On this occasion, the honourable members of the committee included Sanjay Akhouri, Binod Kumar Agarwal,  Rakesh Kumar Prasad, Kenneth Dwaz, Reshu Bhardwaj, Sandeep Nagpal, Rajendra Kumar Saraogi, Dr. Tanushree Dutta,  Krishna Kumar, Ajay Kumar Roy, Krishna Kumar Gupta (K.K. Gupta) and Raj Kumar Singh.

On behalf of the Railway Administration, CMS Dr. Raju Tirkey, Sr DOM Shreya Singh, Sr DE (Coordination) Saket Kumar, Sr DME Rajiv Ranjan, Sr DS and TE Vivian Marandi and other officers were present.
