The Anti-Sabotage Check Course was inaugurated today by Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana at the Special Branch Training Center in Bhopal. The three-day specialized training program has 48 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) from various districts across the state in attendance.
The primary objective of the course is to strengthen the skills of security personnel in identifying and neutralizing potential threats, including bombs and explosives. The training will be a blend of theoretical and practical exercises, equipping participants with hands-on experience in using modern security equipment, identifying suspicious objects, and conducting site security checks.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) A. Sai Manohar and Inspector General of Police Anshuman Singh. In his address, DGP Kailash Makwana stressed the importance of anti-sabotage operations, noting that officers must be proactive in identifying and neutralizing threats, especially in the context of VVIP security. He highlighted that internal security challenges have made it crucial to adopt the highest standards in protecting high-profile individuals, as well as police personnel and the general public.
Makwana emphasized the growing significance of VVIP security in the face of political campaigns to eliminate Naxalism and combat anti-national elements. He urged officers to take every assignment seriously and treat every threat as a potential danger. "Your main task is to detect and neutralize potential IEDs and ensure no threat reaches a protected individual or event," Makwana stated. He also noted the importance of practical, field-based training over theoretical instruction, including the use of sniffer dogs, metal detectors, bomb defusal kits, and other critical security equipment.
In his remarks, Additional Director General of Police A. Sai Manohar reiterated the responsibility of officers during VVIP duties, which includes securing locations like helipads, airports, event venues, safe houses, and camps. He stressed the importance of strict surveillance and thorough equipment checks, particularly in areas likely to be visited by VIPs, urging officers to maintain unwavering vigilance and dedication in their security responsibilities.
DGP Kailash Makwana concluded his speech by reinforcing the idea that vigilance is the key to preventing sabotage and ensuring the safety of high-profile individuals and the public.
He encouraged the officers to actively engage with past course participants and seek their insights, highlighting that constant learning and adapting to new security measures are vital in staying ahead of potential threats. With growing security challenges, he called for the implementation of advanced methods and technologies in day-to-day policing to ensure the safety of all citizens and VVIPs alike. The training aims to enhance the preparedness of police officers and further strengthen the state’s security framework.
