Electrician dies while repairing TV

Tuesday, 21 January 2025 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

An electrician died of an electric shock while repairing a TV wire at his home in Gandhi Nagar. The incident occurred on Sunday evening when Ramesh Vishwakarma, 28, was working with his uncle to fix a broken cable.

According to his relative Krishnakant, Ramesh was holding a damaged wire when he inserted it into a socket and switched on the power. The exposed wire caused an electric shock, leaving him unconscious.

Ramesh’s family rushed him to a private hospital and later to Hamidia Hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning.

Ramesh Vishwakarma was a resident of Dharmapura village in Chhatarpur district. He moved to Bhopal six years ago in search of work and was employed as an electrician in a private hospital in Lalghati. His earnings supported his family back in the village.

The Gandhi Nagar police have registered a case and started an investigation. After a postmortem on Monday, the body was handed over to the family for last rites.
