A high-level meeting was held at the Delhi Secretariat in the presence of Delhi’s Minister of Art, Culture & Languages and Tourism, Kapil Mishra, and Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa. Senior representatives from the Central Government, officials from the Punjabi Academy, the Department of Art, Culture & Languages, and the Tourism Department also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Mishra stated that the purpose of organising this event in Delhi is to spread his message of compassion and unity across every heart. The Delhi Government aims to make this celebration a national and international cultural inspiration. Mishra also mentioned that all event-related work has been entrusted to professional agencies by the Delhi Government to ensure that every programme is conducted with high quality, cultural depth, and emotional impact.
The objective was to finalise the outline of the grand and historic events to be organised by the Delhi Government to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
It was decided in the meeting that a Chair in the name of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will be established at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. This Chair will promote research on his life, philosophy, and contributions to humanity. The renovation of Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital in East Delhi will be completed on priority, ensuring it is fully equipped with modern medical facilities and dedicated to public service.
One of the key highlights of the celebration will be a Light and Sound Show at the Red Fort, depicting the life, teachings, and sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji through state-of-the-art technology, visual effects, and emotional storytelling.
It is also proposed to display this show across all 11 districts of Delhi through mobile vans, allowing wider public participation. The show’s curation has already been completed by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. In addition, a temporary museum will be set up at the Red Fort, showcasing rare paintings, historical documents, and exhibits related to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s life and teachings. This museum will be open to the general public. From 23rd to 25th November 2025, a Kirtan Darbar will also be organised at the Red Fort, featuring renowned Raagi Jathas performing Shabad Kirtan.
An Inter-Faith Conference was earlier organised on 20th September 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, where representatives of various religions came together to discuss Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s message of religious tolerance, unity, and universal human values. The conference became a unique confluence of spiritual harmony and collective goodwill.
As part of the commemoration series, a theme song dedicated to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will be created by renowned Punjabi artists, conveying his life and philosophy through music. Additionally, a coffee table book on his life and times will be published, documenting historical archives, photographs, and scholarly articles, preserving the legacy of this grand celebration for posterity.
The Delhi Government will undertake extensive publicity campaigns through print, electronic, and digital media. Promotional displays will also be placed at airports, inter-state bus terminals, railway stations, and metro stations, ensuring every citizen of Delhi is informed about the event. The Government of India is also considering the release of a special postal stamp in memory of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th martyrdom anniversary.
During the meeting, Minister Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa stated that the Delhi Government is making every possible effort to make this commemoration grand and unforgettable. He also mentioned that the Central Government is working in a planned manner to make this event historic and memorable, and has assured full support and cooperation.
