State Finance Minister Radha Krishan Kishore has urged the Governor cum chancellor of the universities of the state Santosh Gangwar to order for a probe into the Nilamber Pitamber university in Daltonganj in regard to building taking over.
The minister has sent a missive dated February 13 in this regard to the Governor.
Raising a volley of questions about the taking over of the Academic Building, which has no water facility and its infra-structure quality deems to be not in conformity with the standard, the minister has raised red flag.
The minister has maintained in his missive that apart from the non-availability of the drinking water, the doors and windows appear to be of substandard quality.
The finance minister had inspected the university only on January 11.
Speaking to The Pioneer, Kishore said "There will be an in-depth inquiry into it. No one can get away. This university is the asset of Palamu and the state and hence it's to be uncompromising of its quality of building and teaching."
Sources said the Raj Bhavan has set up a three member probe team.
The Academic Building was taken over by the university this January 28 three days ahead of the retirement of the then acting vice chancellor of the NPU Bal Kishun Munda who was the Divisional Commissioner of Palamu.
Incharge registrar of the NPU S K Mishra said, “The then acting VC had approved for the taking over of the building. There was a committee setup for it under the order of the then acting VC."
"The committee which is of the university compromises non-technical persons, abides by the order of the then acting vice chancellor who was too keen to taking over the Academic Bhavan,” he said.
Sources said there are noises about deficiencies in the newly taken over building, but no one remembers how deficient is the Kautilya Parshashnik Bhavan as well taken over years ago.
Further it's the Jharkhand state Building Construction Corporation limited that keeps pursuing the University for the taking over of the building and as such it's this corporation that it's to be made more accountable for passing over building still wanting in infrastructure facilities and conveniences.
Sources said as a matter of fact the entire university complex appears to be in water scarcity zone which was never seen or taken note of from the first day of the foundation of this multi crore university.
