Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh on Thursday launched “Operation Aparajita”, a counselling Centre for Rape Survivors. The centre has come up in collaboration with Amity University.
Delivering the Keynote Address, Laxmi Singh said the centre will provide the victims with medical counselling, legal aid and psychological counselling through Amity. “We need to address the trauma which rape victims go through and there is a need for trauma-centric and victim centric counselling. We will provide full support to the rape victims and their families and will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that they lead a life of dignity in the society,” she said.
On the occasion Suniti, DCP, WCSD, Gautam Buddh Nagar, said matrimonial disputes are increasing in the society and the Family Dispute Resolution Centre opened in collaboration with Amity has proved to be highly beneficial in resolving the disputes peacefully. Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh and top Amity officials were present in the event launch.
