A country made bomb hidden by wild boar trappers is suspected to have injured a senior citizen out in the jungle to graze his flock of goats.
One 6O year old villager identified as Jagdish Baitha got his fingers hurt in the jungle of Risiyappa under the Naudeeha Bazar police station limits when a crude bomb went off when he was shuffling leaves for his goats late Saturday afternoon January 18.
Officer in charge of the Naudeeha Bazar police station Amit Kumar Dwivedi told this correspondent today January 19" Jagadish Baitha was out grazing his goats in the sparse jungle of Risiyappa when during the shuffling of leaves he got his fingers hurt in the explosion."
There's is no naxal angle at all said the police officer.
The jungle is thin. It's scattered. It's not any venture field of the naxals.
Again it was a crude desi bomb which the villagers usually plant or hide in the sheaves of the leaves to trap wild boar opined the police officer Dwivedi.
The injured villager was treated in the sub divisional hospital Chhaterpur.
Dr Rajesh Agrawal, the head of the sub divisional hospital Chhaterpur said "All the five fingers of the right hand of Baitha were damaged in the explosion."
"Our doctor on duty Santosh Prasad and his team of para medics attended the injured. It was a lacerated wound. The injured man may have a problem with fingers which may become partially incapacitated."
His wounds were washed and dressed. Anti tetanus shot was also administered added Dr Agrawal. The injured villager was well taken care of added Dr Agrawal.
Winter makes wild boar more venerable to human trapping and just to render it immobile desi bomb is used to scare and hurt it said sources.
