Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday said that the preservation and beautification of historical monuments is an important responsibility of the Government and her Government will take care of heritage and ensure development. She was addressing a gathering at the ‘Viksit Bharat Art Camp’, organised as part of the Seva Pakhwada, near the Mohammad Quli

Khan Tomb in Mehrauli Archaeological Park.

The event was jointly organised by the Delhi Government’s Department of Art, Culture and Language and the Sahitya Kala Parishad. Around 1,000 children and 75 young artists showcased their creativity and art.

The Sahitya Kala Parishad presented a cultural programme — ‘Anekta Mein Ekta’ — to mark the event.

Stating that the event is a beautiful celebration of India’s culture and art, organised by the ministry under the ‘Seva Pakhwada’, Gupta noted that the four monuments, whose restoration has been fully completed, were dedicated during the event. “Alongside the country’s development, the preservation of historical heritage is equally important. Currently, the ministry is working on 14 monuments, which are being preserved for future generations,” she said.

She also reiterated that preserving and beautifying monuments is an important government task, carried forward in alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision.

She emphasised that the paintings created by children and artists reflect India’s next phase.

The event was attended by Delhi’s Minister of Art, Culture, and Language, Kapil Mishra; local MLA Gajendra Yadav; Secretary Rashmi Singh; and other dignitaries. Around 1,000 children and 75 young artists showcased their creativity and art.

Additionally, the Sahitya Kala Parishad presented the cultural program ‘Anekta Mein Ekta’.

With warmth and enthusiasm, she shared personal experiences, stating that visiting this complex brought back childhood memories of picnics to Qutub Minar, Red Fort, and the Delhi Zoo.

She reiterated that preserving and beautifying monuments is an important government task, carried forward in alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision. She emphasised that the paintings created by children and artists reflect what India’s next phase will be.

The future belongs to India, which is emerging as a global guru, and the world will witness it. She added that everyone should work together to ensure both the country and Delhi progress.

According to the Chief Minister, thousands of paintings created by children and numerous artists reflect their dedication and feelings towards the nation. The Ministry of Art, Culture, and Language, along with Minister Kapil Mishra, deserves appreciation for organizing such special programs.

Speaking at the event, Mishra said that the Mehrauli Archaeological Park has been restored and preserved by the Delhi government. The site is now being presented in a new form with high-tech lighting and is being developed as a major tourist destination. Around 1,000 children created paintings on themes such as Developed India, Operation Sindoor, Future India, and Transforming India.

Mishra also said that Delhi and India’s Gen Z are deeply connected with the Prime Minister. Children and youth do not need explicit instructions on what themes to choose for their paintings. “Most children independently select topics such as the Prime Minister, Atmanirbhar Bharat, or Viksit Bharat. These creations reflect the new generation’s positive attitude and determination regarding the country’s future,” he added.
