Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday gave away the prizes during the closing event of the 73rd All India Police Volleyball Group 2024-25 games at the Madhuban Police Academy in Karnal and said  the competition not only showcased sportsmanship but also symbolized discipline, unity, and dedication of the police force.

Saini said that sports play a vital role in enhancing the performance of police forces in carrying out their duties. Players from 35 teams representing different states participated in the competition, including 791 men, 297 women, and 65 technical officers.

While congratulating the winning players, he acknowledged the tireless efforts of police personnel, who are engaged around the clock in ensuring the country’s internal security and protecting citizens. He said that whether responding to natural disasters, maintaining law and order, or managing public cooperation during emergencies, the police force is always at the forefront. "This competition provided players with an opportunity to showcase their skills and abilities, while also gaining insight into each other's emotions, beliefs, and lifestyles," he said.

Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur said that Haryana Police hosted the All India Police Games for the 19th time and highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the state government to support the players.
