Emphasizing that the holistic development of every student is the top priority of the education department, Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda on Sunday said that the State Government is fully committed to implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which was introduced under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Education Department has already been directed to ensure its swift implementation, he added.

Dhanda, speaking as the chief guest at a programme at CR Model Public School, Jharsa, Gurugram, to celebrate the 144th birth anniversary of Deenbandhu Sir Chhotu Ram, said that Sir Chhotu Ram has done historic work in uplifting the oppressed and underprivileged sections of society. As a Revenue Minister, Sir Chhotu Ram used his authority to provide justice to farmers burdened by heavy debts, he added.

The Minister emphasized that education should not be limited to obtaining degrees but should also focus on character building and skill development to help students secure the right employment opportunities. He said that the children should be taught about great leaders and warriors who can inspire them to contribute to the nation's progress.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India is growing its global reputation. He appealed to everyone to work together towards making India a developed nation by 2047, emphasizing that efforts must begin now with dedication and commitment.

During the event, Dhanda announced a grant of Rs 21 lakh for the Sir Chhotu Ram Society to support educational development. He also laid the foundation stone for the school’s new E-Block. Several dignitaries, including MLA Mukesh Sharma and Tejpal Tanwar also remained present.
