Wednesday, 30 April 2025 | PNS | Jamshedpur

A virtual meeting of the District-level Mining Task Force was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhagirath Prasad, following directives from the District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal. The meeting focused on curbing illegal mining, transportation, and storage of minerals across the district.

During the meeting, all Circle Officers and Station House Officers were instructed to maintain strict vigilance over illegal mining activities in their respective areas. The ADC emphasized that, in addition to regular inspection drives, a special inspection campaign must be conducted at least once a week to ensure effective action against those involved in illegal mining operations.

The functioning of check posts in Ghatshila and Dhalbhumgarh Circles was also discussed. The ADC directed the District Mining Officer to provide all necessary facilities to ensure the efficient operation of these check posts. He also instructed the concerned Circle Officers to conduct surprise inspections to verify the presence of deputed magistrates and police officials at these locations.

Furthermore, all police station in-charges were directed to expedite the arrest of named accused individuals in FIRs related to illegal mining, where arrests are still pending. The meeting was attended virtually by the District Mining Officer, Circle Officers, police officials, and officers from other concerned departments.
