Hry Speaker calls for enhancing quality of Legislative Assemblies


Chandigarh: Haryana Legislative Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan on Tuesday called for enhancing the quality of legislative assemblies at the 85th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference (AIPOC). Kalyan said that to improve the quality of legislative assemblies, there needs to be refinement in the working style of members, and for this, systematic and planned efforts must be made regularly. The AIPOC conference was held in Patna, Bihar, and concluded on Tuesday. 


Now Veta will also produce sugar-free products: Hry Minister


Chandigarh: Haryana Cooperation Minister Arvind Sharma on Tuesday said that Veta will now also produce sugar-free products, ensuring availability for people suffering from diabetes. He directed the Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation to increase the range of Veta products and give strong focus to branding, so that these products can establish a place in the hearts of people for their quality. He also gave instructions to enhance the plant's capacity and increase the promotion of ghee from Jind, which is witnessing growing demand. In a review meeting, Sharma emphasized expanding the range of Veta products to make high-quality products more accessible to the general public. He also instructed the production of sugar-free products for people with diabetes.

Citizens must be aware of road safety rules, help those injured in accidents: Health Minister


Chandigarh: An awareness programme was organized in Gurugram on Tuesday as part of the Road Safety Week being celebrated by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. On this occasion, Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister Arti Singh Rao and Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Singh Gangwa motivated citizens to follow traffic rules. The Health Minister said the number of vehicles has increased significantly in Gurugram and the rest of the state due to which accidents are also increasing. In view of the accidents happening day by day, the state government has decided to establish a trauma center at every fixed distance on the main roads. Calling upon the people to immediately help the injured in road accidents, the Health Minister said the first one hour is considered very important to save the life of an injured person during a road accident. 

Cervical cancer awareness held in Chandigarh for School Children


Chandigarh: Fortis Hospital Mohali on Tuesday organised the grand finale of ‘Illustrate to Eliminate’, a cervical cancer awareness initiative at the Rose Garden Underpass, Sector 17. As part of this initiative, it organised a poster-making and slogan-writing competition for students. Emphasizing on early detection of cervical cancer, Dr Shweta Tahlan, Consultant, Gynae Onco-Surgery, Fortis Hospital said, “Every woman should be careful enough to notice any unusual changes in her body and seek a consultation immediately. 

Scams & Privatization ruined Haryana Roadways: Hooda


Chandigarh: Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday alleged that the scams and privatization being done by the BJP have ruined Haryana Roadways. Dilapidated buses are being run on the roads, which are inviting fatal accidents. He further alleged that BJP's scams and privatization brought Haryana Roadways to the brink of ruin. The current government neither bought new buses nor recruited staff according to the vacant posts. The number of buses in the Roadways fleet kept decreasing but the fares kept increasing, he alleged.
