Religious leaders and delegates from foreign lands will participate in the ninth International Buddhist Festival in the state capital on Sunday.
The festival, celebrating Buddhist philosophy and culture, will get underway at Buddhabhoomi Mahavihar Monastery, Chuna Bhatti, at 1 pm.
Buddhist religious leaders and devotees arriving from Thailand, Taiwan, and China to attend the event were accorded a rousing welcome at the Bhopal airport by members of the local Buddhist community.
Community members say the event will prove to be an important and inspiring occasion for the followers of Buddhism, which will guide the community for years to come.
This international festival will not only enrich Buddhist culture but will also deliver a message of cultural and spiritual unity at the global level.
Such events will further strengthen the international identity of Buddhism and the faith of its people, they said.
