In the two-day National School Band Competition organised at Major Dhyanchand National Stadium, New Delhi, the students of PM Shri Kasturba Gandhi Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya, Patamda, East Singhbhum, Jharkhand have become national champions by registering a spectacular victory in the pipe band category. The winners of this competition were rewarded by Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth.
Addressing the closing cum prize distribution ceremony, Seth said, “Bharat Mata Ka Jaikara gives us energy and encouragement. The morale of the soldiers is always high by chanting Bharat Mata ki Jai in any situation on the borders of the country. This brings a feeling of patriotism and dedication. The performance by all the participants was amazing, I myself come from Jharkhand and I am surprised to see the change in the lives of the girls of remote Patamda and want to salute them.”

On the spectacular victory of the girl's team of Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Departmental Minister Ramdas Soren, Minister (Arts and Sports) Sudivya Sonu, Departmental Secretary Umashankar Singh, State Education Project Director Shashi Ranjan, State Program Officer Dheersen Soren and other officials have congratulated and wished the entire team.
The Jharkhand team has won the sixth edition of the National School Band Competition. Earlier, The State became champions in 2017 and 2019. After 2019, Jharkhand has received the National Champion award in the pipe band category of the competition to be held in 2025.
The team of PM Shri Kasturba Gandhi Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya, Patamda will also give a band performance on the rostrum of the Republic Day parade to be held in Delhi. The team includes Parvati Mahato, Asha Lata Mahato, Pinky, Kalyani Mahato, Mamta Mahato, Basanti Mahato, Varsharani Manjhi, Basanti Mahato, Sadhna Mahato, Subhadra Karmakar, Rupali Tudu, Parmila Mahato, Ruma Mahato, Kalpana Tudu, Pooja Rani Mahato, Pooja Mahato, Riya Mahato, Chhaya Mahato, Savita Mahato, Usharani Soren, Pallavi Mahato, Ibil Hansda, Sukarmani Soren and Barnali Manjhi.
All the members are students from class 8 to class 12 in PM Shri Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential School, Patamda. Along with them, teacher Saro Hansda, Band Master Prem Rana, Coordinator Chandradev Singh, Havildar General Singh and Amar Veer Singh of Punjab Regiment Centre will also join the team.
