Minister for Art, Culture and Development Kapil Mishra on Friday said continuous coordination is being maintained with relevant departments to ensure the development and beautification of the Khajuri and Karawal Nagar areas.

He also informed that a comprehensive revamp of these areas is on the cards and necessary directions have already been issued to the concerned departments.

Discussing the drainage problem, the Minister emphasized that it will be ensured that the drain water does not overflow into residential areas. The drainage system is being scientifically improved. The process of removing encroachments will also be carried out on a priority basis.

He gave these assurances after a meeting to chalk out a concrete strategy for the widening of main roads, drainage issues and overall cleanliness in the Karawal Nagar Assembly constituency. The meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker of Delhi Assembly Mohan Singh Bisht, municipal councilors, district president and representatives of the local RWAs.

Mishra further assured that the Khajuri and Karawal Nagar areas will soon emerge as clean, green, and beautiful localities, providing residents with a better, safer and healthier environment.

The Delhi Government is committed to public welfare and is taking concrete steps for the holistic development of these regions.
