A joint jail adalat, legal awareness and health check-up camp took place at the jail on Sunday. The event was organised by NALSA and JHALSA, under the direction of Nalin Kumar, the Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority.
The District Legal Services Authority, Garhwa, informed inmates about their legal rights. They were advised that if they couldn't afford a lawyer, or if their case had been decided by the District Court and they wanted to appeal to the High Court or file a bail application, they could send an application to the District Legal Services Authority, Garhwa, through the Jail Superintendent. This would allow them to get a free lawyer, and the District Legal Services Authority, Garhwa, would try to ensure they received justice quickly.
During the health check-up camp, around 200 prisoners were screened for sugar, blood pressure, eye problems, and other health issues. Medicines were given out as needed.
Ravi Chaudhary, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Garhwa, inspected the jail with his colleagues during the event. He provided guidance. The jail adalat was attended by L.A.D.C.S. Chief Pravind Sah, LADC Sudhir Tiwari, a medical team from Sadar Hospital, Garhwa, and court staff Pramod Kumar Dubey.
