Rajhara North (Central and Eastern) coal mine commonly known as Fair Mine Carbons Pvt Ltd at Pandwa was inaugurated by the state finance minister Radha Krishan Kishore, MP Vishnu Dayal Ram, managing director (MD)Sameer Lohia, directors Rajeev Singh and Rajiv Shekhar.
It's the first ever commercial coal mine in Palamu that has opened in a record time said the management of the Fair Mine. T
This coal block is in 115.8 hectares. Further it can mine 50 to 60 thousands of tonnes of coal every month. The state of Jharkhand is to get 100 crores per annum from thus coal block. It's leased for thirty years.
It has become operational at such a time when another private mine belonging to Hindalco company is non operational said the state finance minister Radha Krishn Kishore.
Kishore in his speech said "This Hindalco coal block here is shut for a year. It's area of operation is passive. People living in the fringe area of its demarcated coal mining areas are deprived of governmental welfare and developmental schemes."
"I hereby ask the circle officer of Paton Anchal to find out if the Hindalco coal block is interested in mining here any more" the minister added.
"If this Hindalco coal block wants to pack up from here, it's free to move out. But you being the circle officer must find out as to how to reach welfare schemes in the areas which this coal block has contained for mining which it is not doing." reminded the minister.
The circle officer Paton who was in the inaugural ceremony of this coal block assured the minister of his working as per directed saying there is some issue with the lease of the Hindalco coal block here.
What the state finance minister said today was corroborated weeks back by the district mining officer Sunil Kumar saying there has not been any mining or shipment of coal by Hindalco in the current ongoing financial year.
Incidentally the finance minister's Chhaterpur Paton asssembly constituency is the 'home' of all the 5 coal blocks namely CCL Rajhara, Fair Mine Carbons Pvt Ltd, Meral Trimula coal block, Lohari Aranya coal block and Hindalco coal block.
Kishore said " My assembly constituency has 5 coal blocks. I wish all starts operation. It will herald a new beginning of economic activity."
MD Sameer Lohia of the Fair Mine Carbons Pvt Ltd when asked if his coal block will be any interested in further expansionism as the fate of the nearby coal block Hindalco looks uncertain to which Lohia said "It's not our cup of tea. It's the government of India to take the final call. There is a whole set of procedures in getting allocation of the coal block."
Lohia revealed this Rajhara North Central and Eastern coal mine commonly known as Fair Mine Carbons Pvt Ltd was in fact the coal property of the Nobel Laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore's family.
Lohia has something more to unfold today when he said "This coal block had a bidder of Adani Group of companies. We were just a startup before the Adani Group. However luck favoured us. We got it."
MP Vishnu Dayal Ram in his speech assured the people of Palamu that 'one day or the other Rajhara CCL colliery will also start operation which is closed for over 15 years.'
Ram asked the raiyyats here to produce genuine papers in support of their claims to come to them from the Rajhara CCL colliery instead of bringing out 'historic details'.
The MP said this to counter the delay tactics of the raiyyats as in every claim meeting the raiyyats pull out new documents which delay the start of the production of coal in the Rajhara CCL colliery here.
Palamu's coal is the favoured coal of the nation said an old miner here.
Palamu's coal is of the finest quality fit for steel plants said a coal trader.
The Fair Mine Carbons Pvt Ltd management was more than assuring when right from its two directors Rajiv Shekhar and Rajeev Singh to the managing director Sameer Lohia all went on convincing the villagers that "It's not a commercial and business venture only. We are not here to mine coal and sell it."
Lohia further added"We are honest and sincere towards the pragmatic development of the areas here. We want to give a filip to the areas."
Rajeev Singh said"We leave it to the people here to assess and judge our intention and motive here. They will see things moving here in pro people friendliness in only two months from now."
"We are eco friendly. We will hand over the mined pits in its primordial state once our job gets over here" assured Rajeev Singh.
