In the midst of intensifying preparations ahead of the Global Investor Summit, scheduled to take place in the state capital on February 24-25, Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan on Saturday told officials to ensure heightened readiness ahead of the event.
Narayan instructed department heads to ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks and preparations in line with the dignity of the summit.
He also directed officials to ensure proper maintenance and resurfacing of major roads, repairs and painting of central verges, side verges, and footpaths, beautification of lakes, ponds, gardens, and walls, and improvement of streetlights and other electrical work.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Devendra Singh Chauhan, Harshit Tiwari, Chief Engineer Udit Garg, as well as officials from the Public Works Department, the National Highways Authority of India, Smart City, and the Industrial Development Corporation.
The civic body administrator also directed the Horticulture Department to plant beautiful and attractive plants wherever necessary, including in central verges, side verges, parks, and pots, and to organize green spaces around the airport and state hangars.
This is the first time the state capital is hosting the summit, which is likely to be attended by 2,000 prospective investors who have shown interest in venueing their projects in Madhya Pradesh.
