Neither Hindus, nor Muslims, humanity killed in Pahalgam: JMM

Friday, 25 April 2025 | PNS | Ranchi

State's ruling party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, calling it 'murder of humanity'.

Senior JMM leader Vinod Kumar Pandey issued a press statement saying that in this incident, it was not Hindus or Muslims but humanity that was murdered. The tourists who were killed in Pahalgam included not only Hindus but also Muslims, Christians and people of different religions. He called it very unfortunate and a matter of shame for humanity.

Pandey said that no amount of condemnation of this type of massacre would be enough. Demanding strict action against this attack from the central government, he said that the Government of India should take such steps so that in future no terrorist can dare to look towards Kashmir.

The senior JMM leader described Pahalgam as a safe and popular place for tourists from the country and the world. He also raised the question that when this place is so sensitive and popular, then the absence of central security forces there at the time of the attack raises serious questions on the security arrangements for tourists.

Pandey said that there is an atmosphere of grief and anger across the country after this attack. He said that religion cannot be the answer to this lapse in security, rather it is an administrative failure. He demanded Union Home Minister Amit Shah to resign on moral grounds.

The senior JMM leader also alleged that the central government did not learn any lessons from incidents like Pulwama. If lessons had been learned, then innocent tourists would not have been massacred like this in Pahalgam.

Pandey told that after the attack, local Kashmiris - taxi drivers, hotel operators and horsemen - helped the tourists and made free arrangements to take them home safely. On the other hand, heavy recovery was made in the flight fare from Delhi, due to which people are hurt.

The senior JMM leader demanded the central government to take strict action against Pakistan-backed terrorism and answer the questions about the lapse in the security arrangements for tourists.
