With eye-related disorders affecting a large section of the population, more than 200 ophthalmologists from across India came together for Ophthaquest, a
three-day academic conclave dedicated to advancing knowledge, research and technology in eye care.
The event, which began on Friday, featured multiple sessions on major ophthalmic challenges such as cataract, glaucoma, retina disorders, and refractive surgery. Experts shared insights on the latest medical breakthroughs and engaged in interactive discussions to exchange knowledge and experiences.
Dr Ajay Sharma, founder of Ophthaquest and CMD of Eye-Q Hospitals, said that participants included senior specialists from 18 States, along with young practitioners and medical students. “This platform allows the younger generation to learn directly from the experience of senior doctors, ensuring continuity of knowledge and better patient care,” he added. The conference opened with the session “The Vision Boost: Refractive Surgery Essentials,” where Dr Gaurav Luthra, Dr Kapil Arneja, and Dr Vandana Saroha spoke on advancements in vision correction. Another highlight was the “Retina Roundtable”, with Dr Purnima Sood and Dr Anshu Arora presenting emerging research, followed by sessions on “Future Sight: Retina Breakthroughs” and the latest in cataract surgery techniques.
Dr Deependra Singh of Eye-Q Hospitals, who moderated several sessions, emphasised the importance of such platforms in addressing global challenges in eye care. “By sharing knowledge and expertise, we can collectively improve treatment outcomes and bring relief to millions suffering from vision problems,” he said.
Ophthaquest has emerged as one of the leading platforms in Gurugram for collaborative learning and knowledge exchange in ophthalmology, bridging the gap between research, technology, and clinical practice.
