Prasar Bharti launches OTT platform Waves in 22 languages

India’s public broadcaster Prasar Bharti launched its OTT platform Waves in November 2024 with the aim of providing holistic digital entertainment to Indian viewers and also for increasing the digital reach among the rural audience.

The OTT platform has been launched with several features. Waves will provide information, education and entertainment in 22 Indian languages including all major regional languages. It will also give detailed information on mythology, literature, dance and travel for all sections.

With the aim of enhancing creativity among the youth, Waves will provide multiple platforms for them to contribute in all the fields like writing and direction. The OTT platform ‘Waves Market’ will also invite viewers to trade in many different ways on one platform.

Radio & Games Waves provides its viewers with various entertaining radio programs like Vividh Bharti, FM Gold as well as free- to- play games on this platform.

Waves will also provide all the national and international channels of Doordarshan along with many other entertainment channels to its viewers.
