A day after the voting concluded, three exit polls on Thursday predicted a sweep for the BJP in the Delhi assembly elections with vote share in the range of 48-49 per cent and 45-61 seats in the 70-member House.
After the voting concluded on February 5, all eyes turned to exit polls, with most of the pollsters predicting a landslide victory for the BJP and only a few suggesting leverage for the ruling AAP in the national capital elections. The exit polls have given one to two seats to the Congress party, which is hopeful of enhancing its poll performance.
Pradeep Gupta's Axis My India has predicted a landslide for the BJP in Delhi Elections 2025 giving the saffron party between 45-55 seats. The majority mark in 70-member Delhi assembly is 36 seats. The Axis My India exit poll released on Thursday predicted that the AAP will win anywhere between 15-25 seats. The Congress may win 0-1 seat, it said. In terms of vote share, the Axis My India has predicted 48 per cent vote for the BJP and 42 per cent for the AAP. The Congress is predicted to get 7 per cent vote share, according to Axis My India.
According to Axis My India, among ten seats in South Delhi, the BJP and the AAP are predicted to win 5 seats each while in north-east Delhi, the BJP is predicted to win 6 seats while the AAP may win 4 seats. The BJP is poised to win 7 seats of 10 assembly seats of Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha seat. The AAP will win 3 seats from Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha seat, it said. In New Delhi Lok Sabha seat, the AAP is winning 3 assembly seats while the BJP is winning 7 seats. In West Delhi Lok Sabha, the BJP is winning 8 assembly seats while the AAP is expected to win 2 seats. In East Delhi Lok Sabha seat, the BJP is predicted to 2in 8 while the AAP may win just 2 seats. Today's Chanakya Chanakya's projections are in line with most other exit polls which predict that the BJP is poised to form the next government in Delhi. As per the projections, Congress will continue its dismal run. According to Chanakya, the BJP is winning a 49 per cent vote share with 45-57 seats (51 with an error margin of six), while AAP may get 13-25 seats with 41 per cent vote share. Others are projected to get 0-3 seats.
CNX has predicted a landslide for the BJP with 49-61 seats and 49.05 per cent vote share, while it said the AAP could get 10-19 seats with 41.52 per cent vote share. The Congress could open its account in the assembly after a gap of 10 years with 0-1 seats and a vote share of 5.37 per cent.
On Wednesday, most pollsters predicted that BJP will return to power in Delhi. A poll of 10 exit polls gave BJP around 41 seats in th 70-member assembly. If the predictions come true, the saffron party will return to power in Delhi after a long gap of 27 years. It will also deal a body blow to Arvind Kejriwal's AAP which has been in power in the national capital for over a decade.
The BJP has been trying to unseat AAP from power for the last 10 years but has not been able to surpass the Kejriwal challenge. Pollsters now believe that the saffron party has its best shot at power in the national capital - one region that it has not dominated since PM Modi's ascent to the Centre. If the predictions hold, the BJP's winning momentum will get a further boost following its successes in Maharashtra and Haryana last year.
The results of the February 5 elections will be announced on Saturday.
