Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi in association with SPICMACAY hosted a musical performance in its premises on Friday. The event featured a performance by Supratik Sen Gupta, a renowned instrumentalist who won several awards and is a disciple of Padma Bhushan Pandit Buddhadeb Das Gupta and Partha Pratim Chatterjee.
He was accompanied by Biswajeet Pal, a leading Tabla artist in India from the Banaras gharana.
Both students and teachers were mesmerized by the musical performance of the artists. The event included different ragas on Sitar and was accompanied by the Tabla. Overall, the programme gave a unique opportunity for students to learn about Indian classical music and gave them exposure about the rich heritage of our nation.
