Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that Shahdol district in Madhya Pradesh is renowned for its rich mineral resources, energy potential, religious significance, natural beauty, and archaeological heritage. The upcoming Regional Industry Conclave on January 16, 2025, will not only boost investment and industrial growth but also mark a historic milestone in the overall development of the region. This event will pave the way for a new direction in Shahdol's progress and prosperity.

Yadav said that Shahdol is known across the country for its abundant mineral resources. The Sohagpur Coalfield located here is one of the oldest and richest coal mine areas in India. This area is ideal for the development of energy based industries. The expansion of energy hub Singrauli and Phulpur gas pipeline is establishing Shahdol as a centre of energy based industries.

Amalai Industrial Area is also a major centre of the region, which is famous for paper industry and mineral processing. The industries located here are not only providing employment but also strengthening the local economy. Apart from Amalai, nearby Anuppur and Umaria also have immense potential for industrial investment. The government has initiated several projects to further empower Shahdol in the energy sector. Plans are being made to attract investors especially for gas-based industries and green energy projects.

Yadav said that the religious places located around Shahdol make it an important center of spirituality and tourism. Amarkantak, which is the origin of Narmada, Son and Johila rivers, is a major attraction for devotees due to its spiritual significance. Apart from this, ancient temples and ashrams located here also promote religious tourism. The calm and spiritual atmosphere here along with religious places inspires investors to invest in the tourism sector. The state government is working towards further developing these sites, which will boost both tourism and local industry. The world famous Bandhavgarh National Park located near Shahdol is known for its large number of tigers and rich biodiversity.
