DGP Anurag Gupta today chaired a meeting on the "Public Grievance Resolution Program" to be organized again on January 22 in all the districts of the state. While doing a comprehensive review regarding the programme organized earlier on 10.09.2024 and 18.12.2024 and programme to be organized again on 22/01/2025, several instructions were given by the DGP.
He asked officials to ensure that the disposal of the complaint letter received from the general public is done at a fast pace. If it is possible to resolve the complaint on the spot, then ensure its resolution at the same time.
Information about the action taken by the police on the complaints should be made available to the complainant as soon as possible.
In the light of the application form of the complainant, an FIR must be registered as per the requirement.
In every district, mobile/Whatsapp number and email ID should be arranged for online complaints and publicity should be ensured among the common citizens so that common citizens can send online complaint letters regarding their problems.
Written and oral complaints received from the general public should be maintained in a proper register and contact number should also be provided along with the acknowledgement number, so that the complainant can get information about his complaint.
All Superintendents of Police will encourage the formation of Resident Welfare Association (RWA) in their areas. They will make people aware about the Victim Compensation Scheme while obtaining information regarding the safety of missing children and women.
They will also make people aware by giving detailed information regarding the system of filing Zero FIR and Online FIR, Dial-112 and Dial-1930 (Cyber Fraud) under the new criminal law.
He asked SPs to ensure to take further action as soon as possible in the cases registered under SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act for the citizens of weaker sections.
Ensure further action by gathering information about property related crimes and criminals, cyber crimes and chit fund companies cheating citizens illegally.
In areas where crimes related to human trafficking take place, especially information about the victims of crime should be gathered and further action should be taken by gathering information about the criminals involved.
Ensure to make citizens aware for its prevention by gathering information about opium cultivation and purchase and sale of brown sugar etc.
If information is received about school/college children consuming narcotics, necessary steps should be taken to prevent it.
In urban areas, anti-social elements often gather in closed schools, colleges, roads etc., ensure to take necessary action by keeping a strict vigil in this regard.
