After a 45-day summer break, government schools across Madhya Pradesh reopened on Monday, greeting returning students with tilaks, warm hugs and cheerful reunions in classrooms.
At Kamla Nehru School in Bhopal’s New Market, students arrived with visible excitement. Though attendance remained low, the joy of seeing friends and teachers brought broad smiles and lively chatter.
The education department confirmed that admissions are underway across primary to higher secondary levels. The first day marked not just a return to classes, but a fresh start for thousands of children.
Some private schools, citing intense heat, have decided to reopen later. Messages sent to parents state that classes in many institutions will now resume on June 23.
Supplementary board exams for Classes 10 and 12 begin on Tuesday across the state. Admit cards have been issued and are available for download from the official education board website.
Exams will be held from 9 am to noon. Class 10 papers run from June 17 to June 26, while Class 12 exams continue until July 5. Exam centres have been prepared and instructions issued to ensure smooth conduct. For many students, the next few weeks could determine their academic future.
