The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory announcing traffic restrictions and diversions in parts of South Delhi on November 7 due to the Baba Bageshwar Dham Padyatra. The religious procession is expected to draw over 50,000 devotees and a large convoy of vehicles.
The procession will commence from Adhya Katyayani Mandir in Chhattarpur and proceed towards Shree Banke Bihari Mandir in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh.
The yatra will begin at 11 am on November 7 and continue through the day. To ensure smooth movement and prevent congestion, traffic restrictions will be imposed across several key routes in the Chhattarpur and Dera areas.
According to the advisory, movement of all types of vehicles, including Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) and private cars, will be restricted or diverted on specific stretches during designated hours. Traffic on SSN Marg between Y-point, Chhatt-arpur, and Dera More will remain closed from 11 am to 8 pm Additionally, traffic from CDR Chowk to Y-point, Chhattarpur, and vice versa, will face restrictions from 8 am to 4 pm, while the route between Dera More and Y-point, Chhattarpur, will remain affected from 8 am to 8 pm Similarly, movement between Zeer Khod and Dera More will be restricted from 1 pm to 10 pm on November 7 and from 7 am to 1 pm on November 8, the advisory stated. Any vehicles found parked along these roads will be towed away and prosecuted under the Motor Vehicles Act. The public has been urged to avoid SSN Marg, Chhattarpur Mandir Road, and 100 Foota Road and to plan travel in advance using alternative routes.
Commuters travelling from SSN Marg to Faridabad have been advised to continue straight via MG Road through CDR Chowk.
Those heading towards Gurugram via Zeer Khod Road should take Mandi Road through CDR Chowk.
Similarly, vehicles coming from Dera Gaon and heading to Chhattarpur will be diverted from Bandh Road towards Mandi Road to reach Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road.
The advisory added that all emergency vehicles, including police, fire, and ambulances, will be allowed to move freely on restricted roads when responding to emergencies.
However, these vehicles have been advised to avoid the affected stretches whenever possible to prevent delays. Traffic police personnel will be deployed at key junctions to guide motorists and regulate traffic flow.
The advisory also urged the general public and motorists to cooperate with officers, follow road signage, and remain patient in view of the expected large gathering around Chhattarpur Mandir and adjoining routes.
“Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternate roads to avoid inconvenience,” the advisory said, adding that updates will be provided on official Delhi Traffic Police social media handles throughout the day.
