Upcoming city Assembly polls to lift curtains off ‘jugalbandi’ between Congress and BJP, asserts Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday asserted the upcoming Delhi assembly elections would lift the curtains off the ‘jugalbandi‘ between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He accused BJP and Congress of 'behind the scene ' partnership after the former Delhi chief minister criticised Rahul Gandhi for remaining silent over crucial issues but received a reaction from BJP instead.

Kejriwal accused Congress and BJP of forming a 'behind the scene jugalbandi' after BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya reacted to his remarks on Rahul Gandhi claiming the Congress leader is only concerned about his party and not the country. "Today Rahul Gandhi came to Delhi. He abused me a lot. But I will not comment on his statements. His fight is to save Congress, my fight is to save the country," Kejriwal had posted on X.However, the BJP was quick to respond, saying that Kejriwal should first save his Delhi seat ahead of the assembly polls. Malviya responded, "Worry about the country later, save your New Delhi seat now."

Kejriwal was quick to call 'jugalbandi' on BJP's reaction and said, "What is the matter…I said just one line about Rahul Gandhi and the reply is coming from the BJP. Look how much trouble the BJP is facing. Perhaps this Delhi election will expose the Jugalbandi going on behind the scenes between Congress and BJP for years." Kejriwal added as at least two major INDIA bloc partners have pledged support to AAP, leaving the grand old party for a solitary battle.

Earlier, Rahul had said, "Arvind Kejriwal had talked of removing corruption. Has he removed corruption? Just like Modi ji's propaganda of making false promises, he is following the same strategy.... Pollution, corruption and inflation are on the rise in Delhi." The AAP and Congress, which fought the election as allies in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, have taken separate ways in the Delhi Assembly polls.
