In a heartfelt tribute to the courage and valour of the Indian Army under Operation Sindoor, Vikram University organized a ceremonial planting of Sindoor (vermilion) trees at the garden located in front of the university’s Golden Jubilee Gate.

The event was graced by Ms. Shipra Pathak, founder of PanchTatva Foundation and widely known as the "Water Woman of India," who served as the chief guest. She initiated the ceremony by planting the first Sindoor tree, symbolizing respect and gratitude toward the armed forces.

Dr. Anil Sharma, Registrar of Vikram University, informed that the plantation drive took place on Tuesday as a mark of honour for the Indian Army’s bravery during Operation Sindoor. Following Ms. Pathak’s lead, students, faculty, officers, and staff members actively participated in the tree plantation drive, expressing their appreciation for the army’s unwavering dedication.

The programme was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of Vikram University, Prof. Arpan Bhardwaj. In her brief address, Ms. Pathak lauded the Indian Army’s unmatched courage, stating that every citizen of the country reveres the sacrifices and commitment of the soldiers.

In his presidential remarks, Prof. Bhardwaj emphasized that the bravery and heroism of the Indian Army are deeply embedded in the national identity. He noted that Operation Sindoor stands as a powerful symbol of victory and patriotic spirit.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Registrar Dr. Anil Sharma, who acknowledged the participation and support of all those present in making the event meaningful and memorable.

The event not only highlighted the bravery of the Indian Army but also emphasized the importance of environmental consciousness. By choosing to plant Sindoor trees—a symbol of sacrifice and strength—the university aimed to blend patriotic fervour with ecological responsibility. The initiative was widely appreciated by attendees, who described it as a unique and inspiring way to honour the armed forces while contributing to a greener campus and sustainable future.
