Vikramotsav is campaign for India’s rise: CM

Tuesday, 15 April 2025 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that Vikramotsav is a movement for India’s resurgence and cultural awakening—one that will not stop now. He emphasized that Vikramotsav has infused new energy and enthusiasm into the collective consciousness of the people by celebrating India’s cultural identity, historical pride, and national renaissance.

Yadav mentioned that under the theme “From Heritage to Development,” the state of Madhya Pradesh has connected people across the region—from Makar Sankranti (January 14, 2025) to Gita Jayanti—through various aspects of Shri Krishna’s path and cultural heritage. At the heart of this concept is Ujjayini’s sovereign ruler, Samrat Vikramaditya, who defeated the Shakas in 57 BCE and established the Vikram Samvat.

The Vikram Samvat is not merely a calendar or New Year—it is a symbol of India’s soul, self-identity, and pride. The reign of Samrat Vikramaditya is considered a golden age of governance, justice, dharma, and culture after the era of Ramrajya.
