Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS), BHEL, Bhopal celebrated its Annual Day Programme today at Cultural Hall with great zeal & fervor.
The Programme began with lighting of the lamp and worshiping of goddess Saraswati. SM Ramanathan, ED (OSD/ ER&D), BHEL was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion. PK Upadhyay, GM & Head (HEP, Bhopal) graced the programme as Guest of Honour.
Santosh Kumar Gupta, AGM & Head (HR) presided over the Programme. Sangeeta Ramanathan, Rosy Upadhyay, all GMs/DROs and members of WIPS were present in the programme besides large number of women employees.
Dr. Alpana Tiwari, Unit Coordinator, WIPS, BHEL, Bhopal welcomed all the dignitaries and highlighted the achievements of WIPS, Bhopal whereas Namrata Jaiswal presented the Annual Report.
Ramanathan in his address said that women think smartly and they are the source of change in society. He emphasized that women are at higher positions in BHEL as well as various organizations/institutions which can help in better nation building. He talked about self-discipline and gratitude to others. He also highlighted that BHEL has to play a very important role today in the industrial growth of the country and people have great expectations from the company. BHEL having a huge Order Book of almost Rs. two lakh crores have to complete all projects and orders as scheduled and meet the expectations of the customers. He further said that Bhopal Unit because of its diversified product range is one of the most important Units of BHEL and the employees of the Unit have to stand out as Role Model for others.
Office bearers of WIPS, Bhopal Chapter were also felicitated for their outstanding contribution during the year. At the end prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions conducted by BHEL, WIPS Bhopal. The programme was compered by Parul Shrivastava & Amrita Anand Karmakar while Ms. Clara Toppo, AGM (PCG) proposed the vote of thanks.
