In the state capital, wife of a retired army officer committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor. The husband had gone to show her reports to the doctor. When he returned, he saw her body lying in the basement. The woman was suffering from illness for the last 6 months and was suffering from depression.
The incident took place in the TT Nagar area on Saturday morning. Anita Mangal (61) lived in flat B-401 of Tulsi Tower. She was the wife of Sanjay Mangal, a retired officer of MES (Military Engineering Service).
Sanjay had gone to show his medical report to the doctor on Saturday morning. Anita was alone in the house. When the husband returned, he knocked on the door. There was no response from inside. On suspicion, he inquired from the neighborhood and then went to the basement, where he found his wife's body lying.
After retirement, Sanjay Mangal was serving as an expert in Bhopal Metro, but due to his wife's deteriorating condition, he recently left the job. His entire focus was on taking care of his wife, but due to mental stress, Anita took this step.
According to the police, both the daughters of the deceased live abroad and in Gurgaon. The body has been kept in the mortuary and the postmortem will be done on Sunday in the presence of the family members. Police station in-charge Sudhir Arajaria said that at present it is being investigated as a case of suicide.
