Women scale new heights in Sikkim's Goechala Trek

Friday, 25 April 2025 | PNS | Jamshedpur

When the call of the mountains echoed, only a few had the courage to answer. This time, a spirited group of women from Jamshedpur—hailing from diverse professions—set out on an inspiring journey to scale new heights, both literally and metaphorically. At a stage in life when many begin to slow down, these friends proved that dreams have no expiry date.

Bound by friendship and driven by a thirst for adventure, Nisha Ringasia, Rashmi, Shilpi, Pooja, Deepti, Manjushree, Soma, and Reena successfully completed the challenging Goechala trek in the stunning state of Sikkim. Located in the eastern Himalayas, the Goechala Pass stands as a test of endurance and willpower, offering breathtaking views of the mighty Kanchenjunga.

Their expedition started from April 5, was supported and organized by EKA Experience, a group known for curating meaningful and challenging trekking adventures. EKA not only provided expert guidance but also ensured that every detail—from logistics to safety—was meticulously handled, allowing the trekkers to immerse themselves fully in the journey.

“What made this trek even more special was not just the mountains we climbed, but the strength we discovered within ourselves,” shared one of the trekkers. Through steep ascents, icy winds, and unpredictable terrain, the group relied on each other’s encouragement and resilience.

More than a trek, this was a statement—of courage, companionship, and the power of chasing dreams regardless of age or obligations. Their successful completion of the Goechala trek stands as an inspiration to many, a reminder that when women support each other, no summit is too high.
