A 22-year-old man, Sandeep Yadav, is feared drowned after he jumped into the Narmada River at Bhedaghat's Marble Rocks on Friday evening while under the influence of alcohol. Despite an extensive 15-hour search operation by divers, his whereabouts remain unknown.
Police reports indicate that Sandeep, a resident of Ranjhi Karaundi, had visited Bhedaghat with his friends. Eyewitnesses stated that Sandeep was drinking alcohol with his friends when he suddenly removed his clothes and jumped into the river. His friends attempted to stop him, but he ignored their calls. Within moments, he disappeared beneath the water's surface.
A video of the incident has surfaced, showing the young man jumping into the river. His friends immediately informed the Bhedaghat police station, who responded swiftly and initiated a search operation with the help of local divers.
According to the police, they received the distress call at around 8 PM on Friday, reporting the drowning. Since then, divers have been scouring the river but have not yet found any trace of Sandeep. Authorities are continuing their search and have informed Sandeep's family of the situation.
