Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the NDTV World Summit 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, said India’s transformation from a “Fragile Five” economy before 2014 to one of the world’s top five economies reflects the nation’s resilience and resolve. Speaking on the theme “Unstoppable Bharat: The Force of Now”, he declared that India is “in no mood to stop” amid global uncertainties.
Recalling the pre-2014 era, the Prime Minister said discussions then revolved around policy paralysis, corruption, inflation, women’s safety, and terror threats. “People doubted India’s ability to rise above crises, but in the last 11 years, India has overcome every challenge,” he said, adding that the nation has become a symbol of confidence and self-reliance — from chip to ship.
Highlighting economic milestones, Modi said India’s average growth rate has been 7.8%, inflation remains below 2%, and exports have grown steadily. He cited the IMF’s upward revision of India’s growth outlook, Google’s new investments, and the UK Prime Minister’s recent visit with his largest delegation as proof of India’s growing global credibility.
The Prime Minister underlined reforms in banking, fintech, and digital inclusion, noting that 50 crore Jan Dhan accounts were opened to democratize finance. “Earlier, the poor were afraid to enter banks. We ended that fear,” he said.
On social reform, he highlighted free gas connections to 10 crore households and revival of public sector undertakings that now record profits. Modi also cited successes against Maoist extremism, saying 303 militants had surrendered and Bastar now hosts youth sports festivals instead of witnessing violence.
“From a fragile economy to a fearless nation, India has converted every risk into reform, and every reform into resilience,” the Prime Minister said, wishing citizens a Happy Diwali and reaffirming his vision of an ‘Unstoppable Bharat’.
