KALP: Experience Life in Art

KALP (Phases), is an exhibition of exquisite artworks by artist Poornima Dayal from Mumbai. This exhibition is taking place at The Lalit kala Academi, 35, Rabindra Bhavan, Ferozshah Road, New Delhi from 15th January 2025 to 21 January 2025. It was inaugurated on 15th January by Padam Shri Dr. Shovana Narayan, Amita Sarabhai, Joint secretary, Ministry of Culture, Nidhi Kulpati, M.D Ndtv. Poornima Dayal is an internationally acclimated, award winning artist who has exhibited extensively across the globe.

She is the recipient of the Winner prize Award by The Golden Duck Gallery, Hungary, Budapest in early 2024. She also has received the Honorable Awards and Talent Prize awards from Teravarna Art Gallery, Los Angeles. Poornima had the privilege of representing India at The Venice International Art Fair in 2023.

Her artworks have also been displayed several times at the prestigeous Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, Telangana Art Gallery, Hyderabad, The Bombay Art Society, Mumbai, The Nehru Centre Art Gallery, Mumbai, Amethyst and Jadoka Art Galleries, Chennai. The ‘Vishwarang’ program by the Government of India , The Rabindranath Tagore University of Art, Kolkata, The Peak Galleria, Hong Kong, The Holy Art Gallery, Athens and Paris respectively and The Line Contemporary, London. Having had the opportunity to exhibit at The Vienna Bianneal, she has been painting since 33 years.

‘Abstract conceptual’ is how she describes her style of art. ‘I use alot of textures and colors in my style of painting’, continues Poornima.

KALP, her latest Solo Exhibition at The Lalit Kala Academi is a depiction of life’s journey through the various phases of life. In this exhibition,true to its name are exhibited different series of her Acrylics on Canvas, each representing a different phase.

‘KALP’ signifies the importance of living a life in reverence loving and accepting life. Of being grateful for everything has a Divine purpose.

“For me Art is very precious. It’s something I respect. It is a way of self expression for me and I am grateful for it”, quotes Poornima. A treat for Art Lovers the exhibition is on from 11 am to 7pm at The Lalit Kala Academi from 15 to 21 January 2025.
