Pickpocket held, 6 theft cases solved

Six cases of theft were solved when a thief was caught on Wednesday. The thief was caught in the act by a traffic constable when he was fleeing after pick-pocketing a mobile phone from ISBT Anand Vihar. The accused Mohammad Ali is a resident of Saheed Nagar, Ghaziabad, UP.

The complainant one Mahesh Singh stated that his phone was stolen from his pocket when he was purchasing a ticket. He then started chasing the thief but could not catch up. Constable Devendra, who was on duty outside the ISBT gate, then apprehended the person and recovered the mobile from his possession, East district Delhi police stated.

DCP (East) Pankaj Kumar Singh said, “For this act of bravery, Constable Devendra is being suitably rewarded.” On sustained interrogation the accused told police that he was involved in several pick pocketing cases in the ISBT Anand Vihar area.
