NBCC bags Rs 150 crore order to construct CBSE building in Dwarka
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will have an integrated office building at Dwarka that would be a fully equipped state-of-art structure with energy efficient green features as per Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) standards.
The National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) (India) Limited has bagged an order worth Rs 150 crore for construction of the CBSE building at sec-23 Dwarka awarded to it by CBSE.
The proposed building is to be constructed on a plot area of 3 acres and shall be a multi-storey building with basement parking and auditorium.
"The Company has extensive experience in delivering world class educational and healthcare institutes. Sustainable development is our constant endeavor, which we institutionalize right from the concept stage and ensure quality and timely delivery," said , Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal, CMD, NBCC.
CBSE Headquarters building is at Preet Vihar, New Delhi and was constructed by NBCC in 1990. The company has also executed CBSE's regional office at Rai Bareilly and Bhubaneshwar.
GRIHA attempts to minimize a building's resource consumption, waste generation, and overall ecological impact to within certain nationally acceptable limits / benchmarks. GRIHA attempts to quantify aspects such as energy consumption, waste generation, renewable energy adoption, etc. so as to manage, control and reduce the same to the best possible extent. It is a rating tool that helps people assesses the performance of their building against certain nationally acceptable benchmarks.
It evaluates the environmental performance of a building holistically over its entire life cycle, thereby providing a definitive standard for what constitutes a 'green building'.
