Two auto-lifters, two buyers arrested

Crime branch police have nabbed three vehicle lifters from Itwara locality and also arrested two buyers. The police have recovered nine two-wheelers worth Rs 4.5 lakh from their possession on Monday.

Two youths roaming suspiciously near Fish market in Itwara were detained by crime branch police and when they were questioned regarding the bike they failed to provide documents and confessed that the bikes were stolen from Ganjbasoda Mandi and Mangalwara and where trying to sell the bikes.

The nabbed accused persons were identified as Yusuf Khan (27) of Vidisha and Abid Khan (20) of Sukhisewania.

During the further investigation the two confessed stealing of vehicles from Bhopal, Vidisha, Sehore and Hoshangabad along with third accomplice Altaf.

The two confessed stealing 7 more two wheelers and sold two motorbikes to Javed of Bhopal and one motorbike to Mehboob of Vidisha.

Based on the information third accomplice was searched but he managed to escape and is still absconding while the two buyers were nabbed and vehicles were recovered from their possession.

Police said that the accused confessed that the miscreants were involved in stealing of vehicles for the past five years. They would target the owner of the vehicle and would follow him after the vehicle was parked and would provide location of the victim and others would break the lock or unlock the vehicle and later the registration number plate was broken and vehicle would be sold in remote rural areas.

The past crime record of the nabbed accused would be investigated.
