Water Resources Department bags 1st prize at Vigyan Mela

Minister for Water Resources, Public Relations and Parliamentary Affairs Narottam Mishra has congratulated officers of the Water Resources Department for receiving first prize for their model of irrigation project in Vigyan Mela.

Students, organisations and common men saw the model of the department during the four-day long Vigyan Mela concluded on February 12 at BHEL ground.

Besides, details of the complete and under construction project were displayed by the pictures and LED board.

Departmental activities of several departments were displayed in the vigyan mela organised in the joint aegis of the Science and Technology department and Vigyan Bharti in Bhopal recently.

The mobile model of Paras Doh Medium Irrigation Project of Betul district was exhibited beside information about other irrigation projects.

The project will facilitate irrigation on 17 thousand 785 hectare of 40 villages of Betul district.

Under the scheme, the construction work of the dam is almost complete and the entire project will be completed in the next 2 years.

The project cost is `488 crore. The mobile model of Paras Doh irrigation project was considered as the best model by the mela organising committee.

Minister for Energy Paras Jain gave first prize to the model of the water resources department as the best among other models exhibited by the State Government.
