Javadekar to visit Brahmapur

Brahmapur: Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar would visit Brahmapur for two days from August 13. As he has been given the charge of four Lok Sabha constituencies in Odisha including Brahmapur by the party, he would take stock of the different schemes in the Brahmapur constituency. During his visit, he would also hold discussions regarding enrolling new members and functioning of booth committees, booth convenors and Shakti Kendras in different Assembly segments under the Brahmapur Lok Sabha constituency.

Ganjam BJP leader remembered 

Brahmapur: The BJP Ganjam unit organised a condolence meeting for its senior leader Balakrishna Chaudhury at the party office here on Wednesday. BJP Ganjam district president Kanhu Charan Pati, State secretary Bibhuti Jena, Sisir Padhy, Sarat Sahu, Pravat Sadangi, Saroj Sabat, Prabir Patro, Sidhant Gangadev, Sunil Sahu and Pragya Paramita Padhy spoke about Chaudhury’s life as a politician and social activist. The Saraswati Sishu Mandir Neelakantha Nagar also held a condolence meeting for Chaudhury, who was its managing committee VP, with members, students, teachers and other staffs praying for his soul to rest in peace.

Youth dies in snakebite in JSpur

Jagatsinghpur: A youth died following snakebite at Badakhandita village under Biridi block on Thursday when he was working in his paddy field. He had been taken to the Raghunathpur hospital, where he was declared brought dead by the doctor. Villagers demanded compensation to the youth’s family.
