Odisha Parba in Delhi from March 9

Like last year, the Odisha Parba would be held at India Gate Lawns in New Delhi from March 9 to 11 to bring alive the socio-cultural ethos of Odisha at the national level.

Odia Samaj functionaries announced this at a Press meet held in the national capital on Tuesday. The festival would be inaugurated by Chief Justice Dipak Misra at Lawn No.6 at 6 pm on March 9 and Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu and Home Minister Rajnath Singh would attend as chief guests on March 10 and 11, respectively, they informed.

They said denizens from every nook and corner of Delhi NCR would witness the unique culture, heritage, traditions, dance, melody, culinary delights, along with illustrious history and freedom struggle of Odisha under one spectrum during the second edition of the festival. ,

Speaking about the festival, Odia Samaj president Sidhartha Pradhan said, “Each Odia is a Paika in patriotism, spirit and zeal. Paika Bidroha was the first armed rebellion against the British East India Company in 1804. My land is the land of convergence, of equanimity and inherent simplicity.”

He informed that this year Odisha Parba would cover 50 per cent more area than last year. Multiple outlets for drinking water and a three-fold food stalls offering authentic Odia cuisine would be put up, he said.
