BJP gears up for ‘Yuva Hunkar Rally’

From BJP national president Amit Shah to Chief Minister Manohar Lal, everyone will reach the ‘Yuva Hunkar Rally’ at Jind on motorbikes on February 15.

The BJP, which is gearing up to make Amit Shah’s visit a historic event in the State, has issued directions to all Ministers, MLAs, party workers to reach the rally venue by motorbikes.

Aiming to return to power in the State again in next year’s Assembly and parliamentary polls, the BJP is preparing to virtually paint Jind with saffron colour during its motorcycle rally which is expected to have an attendance of more than one lakh party workers riding motorbikes.

To ensure that the party workers from across the State spreads the saffron wave while travelling to the rally venue at Jind, saffron T-shirts, caps, kurtas, pagdis, flags and in some cases, saffron helmets have been distributed to the volunteers registered for the rally.

As per party’s proposed plan, while BJP chief Amit Shah will reach Jind by helicopter, he will arrive at rally ground on a motorbike. Chief Minister Manohar Lal and his Cabinet Ministers will also accompany Shah on motorbikes to reach the venue.

Pulling out all stops to ensure success of the rally, all party MLAs and other senior leaders have also been directed to chalk out their own routes to reach the rally ground by bikes. They have been asked to reach Jind by cars, if required but to ensure that they reach the rally by motorbikes only.

“More than one lakh volunteers have already been registered for the motorcycle rally. The party leaders in various districts are boosting the enthusiasm of these party volunteers by offering them helmets, insurance, T-shirts among other things,” Rajiv Jain, Haryana BJP media in-charge, said.

The State General Secretary (organisation) BJP, Suresh Bhatt on Tuesday took stock of the entire preparations in Jind and also directed the party workers to ensure discipline while reaching the rally ground on February 15, he said

Jain said the party had on Sunday conducted a rehearsal of the motorcycle rally in urban and rural areas of the State.

At this rally, BJP chief Amit Shah will sound the poll budge for Haryana and set the ground for party’s victory in 2019 Assembly and parliamentary polls, he added.

Reacting on proposed protest by opposition at Jind on February 15, Jain said that both the Congress and the Indian National Lok Dal cannot disrupt the rally and it would be an historic event in the State.

The conduct of rally has already been challenged in National Green Tribunal and Punjab and Haryana High Court on grounds of various violations.

Ahead of the party’s rally, security has been strengthened across the state especially in Jind district and nearby areas. Paramilitary forces along with Haryana police personnel have been deputed to maintain law and order situation in the State.

Around 30 companies of paramilitary forces has reached Jind to keep a vigil while eight SSP, 55 DSP, 200 Inspector, 5,500 policemen and 250 women police are also deputed for the rally at Jind. The police will also keep a vigil by helicopters and drones during the rally.

Haryana Roadways services at Jind are also affected due to mobilisation of security forces. There are also reports of prohibitory orders being imposed in few parts to maintain law and order situation in the State.
