The stalemate continues between Punjab Government and the anganwari workers. After the meeting with the Social Security Minister Aruna Chaudhary ended with just an assurance on Tuesday, the anaganwari employees will have another meeting with the Finance and Education ministers on July 17 to resolve their demands related to respective departments.

Chaudhary, the Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister, held a meeting with Anganwadi Employee Union leaders giving a patient hearing to the demands put forward by the union leaders and assured to fulfill their just demands.

“The department fully sympathizes with the demands of the anganwadi workers…The Department is of the opinion that those demands which are justified ought to be resolved immediately and the demands which are out of the purview of the department and are connected with the other departments must be resolved by holding meetings with the related ministers,” said Chaudhary.

She said that as regarding the demands related to the Finance Department, she would soon met the Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal. Similarly, a meeting would also be held with the Education Minister OP Soni to implement in toto the joint instructions formulated by the Education and Social Security departments on November 26, 2017, on the eve of beginning of the pre-primary classes.

Chaudhary said that directions to the senior officers of the social security, women and child welfare department have been issued to redress the grievances on the spot.
