SJVN unveils foundation of corporation’s regional building

The chairman and managing director of SJVN Limited, Nand Lal Sharma unveiled the foundation for the corporation’s regional office building here in Dehradun. Construction of the seven-storeyed building is expected to be completed in two years at an estimated cost of `8.64 crore. A day ago, Sharma and other senior officials of the corporation met the CM Trivendra Singh Rawat to inform about the developments in projects allotted to the corporation. The CMD informed the CM that after completion of the projects being implemented by the corporation in U’khand, the State will be receiving 16.4 crore units equal to 43 Mega Watt electricity free of cost. Along with this, the SJVN Ltd will be investing about `3,346 crore in the State.  The rehabilitation and resettlement plan for the projects is worth `77 crore. Later, the group of Sr officials of the corporation also met the CS  and discussed progress of projects in detail with him. Sharma informed Singh that the civil work has been started on the proposed 60 MW Natwar Mori hydro power project on the Tons river in Uttarkashi district. A target has been set for completing this project in the next 45 months. Asking the project heads to also focus on community development in project areas while implementing the projects, Sharma said that the corporation should also aim to introduce youth in remote areas to technical skills.
