Veterans celebrate golden golden jubilee of passing out from IMA

The veterans of June 1968 batch of the Indian Military Academy (IMA) have gathered to celebrate golden jubilee of their passing out from the academy.

In the reunion the batchmats of 41 Regular and 25 Tech course are celebrating their Golden Jubilee of commissioning (June, 9, 1968).

About 140 Veteran Officers, their spouses and widows of some officers are attending the three day functions.

A communiqué from the IMA informed that it has created a very structured program for the course to participate in fully to understand how the Academy has been upgraded to meet needs of modern warfare and to produce officers who can win battles for their country. The course will critically analyse its own performance over the five decades, and its achievements. They will participate in the Wreath Laying Ceremony at the IMA War Memorial to remember their comrades in arms lost in the service to the nation.

The events would be organised at Vikram Batra GC’s Mess, and the Company lines of the GCs, where these veterans will be staying.

An opportunity will also be given to the veterans to scan through their dossiers recorded 50 years back during their training at IMA.

The course have given the 11 Lt Generals to the Army and has one Kirti Chakra, and many gallantry award winners.
